During our cultural lunch on Friday, December 11, we share holiday traditions that are celebrated around the world. Elle Barnes from USA, Jonelle Basso from Trinidad and Tobago, Junsong Lin from China, Oisin Creaner from Ireland, Pramod Bhuvankar from India and Zara Bagdasarian from Georgia shared their traditional meals, activities, decorations and beliefs. We learned about America’s tradition of Christmas lights, delicious foods and drinks that are created for the holiday season, lucky money that is given to children by elder relatives during the Lunar New Year, catholic traditions that are celebrated in Ireland, the 10-day long holiday Ganesh Chaturthi and superstition during the holiday season in Georgia.
