We were delighted to welcome LBNL director Mike Witherell, who kindly accept to kick-off BLPA’s Series X seminar, were outstanding scientists undergo a full X-Ray analysis of their career and share their advice on how to be a successful and relevant scientist.
During his talk, he emphasized the importance of learning from self-deception, the difficulties (and rewards!) of a two-career couple, and the futile race to publish in the highest-ranking journals. He also urged the postdocs to engage in the public debate around science.
