Established in 2010, the Berkeley Postdoctoral Entrepreneur Program (BPEP) is overseen by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research in collaboration with the Visiting Scholar and Postdoctoral Affairs (VSPA) Program and SkyDeck, the premier startup accelerator at UC Berkeley. BPEP’s mission is to foster entrepreneurship within the UC Berkeley postdoctoral, visiting scholar/student and graduate student communities.
BPEP provides tools, mentoring, and a platform for science-business communication to enable research innovations to move into the marketplace. Over the years, BPEP has become an integral member of the UC Berkeley entrepreneurship community as well as throughout the Bay Area and beyond. If you are interested in joining a group of motivated individuals who are dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship, launching a startup, or becoming a part of a startup, you are encouraged to get involved with BPEP.
BPEP is currently recruiting new executive board members. VSPA Program affiliates and UC Berkeley graduate students from all fields who are interested in helping to plan workshops and special events are invited to apply. Your involvement with BPEP will be a great opportunity to engage in entrepreneurship education, expand your network, and help manage the direction of a vibrant program. The experience and exposure of working in a large research university like UC Berkeley provides leadership skills that will help strengthen and diversify your career trajectory.
If you are interested, please fill in the application form and submit your responses by 5.00 pm, February 1, 2020. For more information, feel free to contact Dr. Naresh Sunkara, advisor to BPEP, via email at bpep-vspa@berkeley.edu.
