The Berkeley Lab Postdoc Association is an organization run by and for about 1000 postdocs and early career scientists working at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. We organize many activities to strengthen our ties to the Lab, to each other and to the (Berkeley) Bay Area. DAAD Networking Tour in Artificial Intelligence

Are you a postdoctoral researcher in the field of artificial intelligence and you want to connect with Germany’s leading research groups?

The DAAD Postdoc-NeT-AI offers you the opportunity to participate in one week of on-site visits to leading universities, research institutes and companies; including in-depth discussions and networking opportunities. Apply now to this year’s tour until 16 August 2020 (midnight CET) at www.daad.de/ainet.

Announcement from Postdoc-NeT-AI Team

Recently we started a new initiative to inform international researchers in artificial intelligence about the research landscape in Germany, with the objective to initiate new cooperation.

Twice a year we will offer a „Postdoctoral Networking Tour” to connect international postdoctoral researchers with the German AI community. This format aims at postdocs in the field of artificial intelligence who are interested in establishing sustainable relationships with Germany’s leading research groups.

The first call is out, and applications are possible until 16 August 2020. Comprehensive information is available at: www.daad.de/ainet .

The program provides:
•       coverage of all program-related costs in Germany (accommodation, domestic travel, most meals)
•       a lump sum travel allowance (based on country of origin) if such costs are not covered by a third party
•       the opportunity to combine the tour participation with additional networking activities in Germany – and guidance in identifying relevant contacts

The dates of the tour are 22 – 28 November 2020. We are aware that – due to the Covid-19 pandemic – there is no guarantee that international travel will be possible in November. However, as two tours per year will be offered in the coming four years selected candidate are invited to postpone their participation to a later tour, should it not be possible this year. Hence, applying is well worth the effort.
