Join Berkeley Postdoc Entrepreneurship Program for a presentation and Q&A on the immigration strategies entrepreneurs must know when establishing a U.S. company, transferring employees across borders, or developing a long-term U.S. immigration strategy.
This presentation will explore the key concepts entrepreneurs and U.S. startups need to understand U.S. immigration law including:
-The proper use of the business visitor visa (B-1 or ESTA)
-The post-degree path: Post-degree Optional Practical Training, STEM OPT, and the H-1B visa process
-Various temporary visas used by startups including:
the H-1B speciality occupation visa,
the L-1 intracompany transfer,
the E-1/E-2 treaty-based visas,
the L-1 intracompany transfer visa; and
the O-1 extraordinary ability visa.
-Immigration-related policy and legislation updates
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
