Rigetti Computing: “Toward full-stack quantum computing built on superconducting qubits”

Quantum computing is among the most exciting and potentially world-changing technologies in development today. Rigetti Computing is a Berkeley-based startup on a mission to build the world’s most powerful computer by leveraging the extreme informational capacity of quantum systems. In this presentation I will provide an introduction to Rigetti and our view of the full stack of technologies required to build a quantum computer. I’ll give a brief overview of the theory of quantum computation and discuss some quantum algorithms of interest. On the hardware side, I will demonstrate a novel mechanism for producing quantum entanglement between transmon-type qubits, and offer a view of the architectural implications of this development.
